Research Interests:

Reasearch achievements: - Co-author of 167 scientific ISI articles with over 2040 citations (h-index = 30) and 14 invited conferences; - Co-author of one international book published by Springer Verlag Ed. - Contributor to 2 international books (chapter author). - Co-author to 3 books published in Romanian. - Project leader and partner leader of 8 funded national and 1 international projects. - Supervision of 5 PhD thesis in progress, 13 completed PhD thesis, 2 enrolled in international joint program.

 

Skills:

Optical spectroscopy: SERS, confocal Raman microscopy, FT-IR, fluorescence, UV-VIS molecular and plasmonic spectroscopy, dark-field microscopy, ‘hole-burning” optical spectroscopy, etc.

Nanofabrication and characterization: chemical synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles and hybrids nanoparticles, coloidal self-assembly, nanosphere lithography, thin film deposition, spin-coating, plasma cleaning, reactive ion etching; surface activation and functionalization, atomic force and electronic microscopy characterization, etc.

Numerical simulation: rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD).
